Under Tim Hightower's leadership since 1987 Southern Carpet, Hardwood and Tile has been recognized as one of the leading floor covering companies in Alabama and all of the southeast.
A lifelong resident of Birmingham, Tim is a graduate of Jacksonville State University, with post-graduate studies at Samford University and the University of Alabama at Birmingham.
Tim has been in the flooring business since 1980, with a focus on working with construction and local business clients.
His reputation for excellence in sales and service and the commitment of Southern Carpet, Hardwood and Tile to always satisfy the customer has led to consistent growth for the company.

Southern Carpet, Hardwood & Tile originally opened its doors in 1899 as Southern Carpet and Rug Cleaning Company.
By the early 1950's Southern Carpet and Rug Cleaning was one of Alabama's largest carpet sales and cleaning service companies.
In the 1970's the company transitioned away from carpet cleaning, changed its name to Southern Carpet, and began to add other flooring products to its product line.
In 1987 Tim Hightower bought the company and changed the name to Southern Carpet and Hardwood, as wood flooring and service had grown to represent a significant part of the company's business.
