Silk Rugs
Report
Our imported silk rugs mainly come from the Persian city of Qum and the Turkish coastal town of Hereke.
These two areas are world renowned for having some of the best silk available.
Traditionally silk rugs are extremely high in knot count, giving them their trademark intricacy, with patterns ranging from exotic garden panels to colorful mosaic domes.
While we don't recommend putting a silk rug in a heavy traffic area like an entryway, they're great for making a statement either as a wall-hanging or on the floor in a room with light foot traffic.
Antique Rugs
Report
We consider a rug antique if it's over 50 years old.
Because of the time it takes to meet this categorization, antique rugs are few and far between.
Each one is completely one of a kind and impossible to replicate.
You won't find the same antique rug in two different stores.
Like most collectible items, determining the value of an antique rug comes down to its condition.
Things like wearing, tearing, fading, staining, and other damage can seriously devalue an antique carpet.
As such, we price our products depending on how we feel it has held up over the years.
